Med-Grip - We started the idea with medical grab bars and have expanded the business to include all railing to cover the same issues with all handrails: they get slippery when wet, your hand slides off of them, textured handrails can be abrasive to skin and hurt to touch, and bare railing can be sensitive for us when they are cold or hot. After making several custom sizes for pools, boats, airplanes, stairway railing, and RV's, we added the Secure-Grip line due to demand.
All Med-Grip products have a one year manufacturers warranty. The warranty covers the functionality of the product: stitching, zippers, and tearing of the material under normal usage. The warranty does not cover cuts, stains, fraying, texture manipulation, damage from heating (do not dry in the dryer), or improper rail measurements. The use of harsh chemicals (i.e. pure bleach) may cause discoloration or cause material manipulation and void the warranty.
No, you don't have to worry about cleaning up a big mess!
No, only cover where you need covered. Guaranteed to stay in place without using zip ties!
Yes. Med-Grip is microbial resistant due to the PVC overlay of the material. It is safe to use your favorite sanitizer mix.
At this time, standard color is taupe. Royal Blue is available for some boat sizes. Specific colors are available to facilities that meet the minimum order and nonrefundable deposit.
Med-Grip was specifically designed to help prevent slip & fall accidents which reduces liability. Med-Grip helps patients that are weak from surgery or medication, get an incredible grip without much effort. The friction of the material actually increases hand strength without irritating the skin. The grip stays the same even in wet conditions.
Med-Grip sizes for bath & shower are the same name as the actual grab bar length, not actual length of the cover. The tight grip is only possible on the straight part of the railing.
Grab Bar/Med-Grip Size Actual Length
12" 8.5"
16" or 18" 14.5"
24" 20.5"
32" 27.5"
36" 32.5"
42" 38.5"
48" 44.5"
The grab bar / Med-Grip length is measured from the middle of the tube from either end to measure the length.
Measure the circumference of the grab bar with a soft measuring tape (usually used for sewing). If the circumference is 4 1/16", your grab bar is an 1.25" outside diameter. If the measured circumference is 4 13/16", your grab bar is an 1.5" outside diameter (O.D.).
ADA Compliant grab bars are 1.25" & 1.5" O.D. Refer to the video "How to Measure" on the Bath & Shower page.
